Respect ABQ Women Campaign Responds to Ballot Measure Signature Verification

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Today, City of Albuquerque Clerk Amy Bailey verified the signatures needed for the ballot measure designed to limit access to safe and legal abortion in the city of Albuquerque. The Respect ABQ Women Campaign issued the following statement:

“Since the moment that this effort to interfere in private medical decisions began, we started organizing our campaign to ensure that Albuquerque women can continue to make these decisions for themselves and their families,” said Adriann Barboa, a spokesperson with the Respect ABQ Women Campaign. “We've followed the signature verification process and have been building a strong campaign to stand with the women of Albuquerque and urge our communities to vote NO on this ballot measure. The deeply personal decision to end a pregnancy should always remain with a woman, her family, and her doctor – and not as a city ordinance.”
